When inquiring about replacing a garage door make sure to ask "what are the design pressures?" There are doors out there that have design pressures of mid 30's to low 40's negative and positive. These are not true Miami-Dade code doors and cannot be used in Miami or Dade county. Palm Beach county will accept them, however the insurance companies are setting their own criteria and it is likely that a year from now your insurance company will either raise your rates or drop you completely. Just two years ago the insurance companies were accepting the Florida State Palm Beach County approved garage doors, however the insurance companies are NO LONGER accepting them. We at The Garage Door King, Inc. furnish a TRUE Miami-Dade code door. The lowest design pressure we install are -46 and +49.8 (169 mph door) and we have doors that go up to 185 mph wind load.

Charges

When you call another company Please be sure to ask if there is a charge just to come out. Most companies will double and triple the price or tell you that you need something that you DON"T and when you refuse they charge you upm to $150.00 just to pull into your driveway.
